Mindfulness at FriendlyCare, led by certified facilitators and trainers, provides affordable and accessible evidence-based mindfulness programs for mental health and wellness. It cultivates a community of practice among facilitators, participants, volunteers, and partners alike.

Since 2016, we have been delivering group-based programs in different institutions such as colleges and universities, companies, organizations, and communities. The programs are derived from evidence-based protocols, experiential, and allows you to cultivate and deepen your mindfulness practices towards resilience, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and self-mastery. You may find this page a source of program information on acquiring a mindfulness program in your community or even training to become a facilitator!

Partner Collaborations

Centre For Mindfulness Studies

The Centre for Mindfulness Studies is a charitable social enterprise founded in 2011 in downtown Toronto. It is the leading professional development and service delivery organization for mindfulness-based interventions in Canada.

Its programs follow the Mindfulness Based Teacher Assessment criteria followed in Oxford, Bangor Exeter and University of California in San Diego.

Together with FriendlyCare and UP Diliman, CMS brought to the Philippines the 1st MBCT Facilitator Certification training in 2018.

Donor Engagements

Templeton Worldwide Charity Foundation

FriendlyCare has been working with Templeton Worldwide Charity Foundation to develop a program for Filipino College Age students. This program is being qualified via a randomized control trial in the University of the Philippines Diliman and the University of the Cordilleras.

Field implementation and analysis of results to be reported in the 1st half of 2022.

University of the Philippines, Diliman

FriendlyCare has been giving Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Program to UP Diliman students, faculty and staff since 2018. UP Diliman sent faculty to the 1st MBCT Facilitator Certification Training Program in 2018. The University has once again played a key role in the Templeton-funded research with its Department of Psychology leading the research design, field implementation and analysis of results to be reported in Q1 2022.

Guang Ming College

FriendlyCare together with CMS developed special online programs for asynchronous and synchronous modalities for Guang Ming College--Practicing Mindfulness and Mindful U. Focused on Life Education, the college aims to provide learning that is humanistic and holistic to cultivate in its students' critical faculties and creative sensibilities to form their character.

University of Cordilleras

The University of the Cordilleras is the other test site for the research project that qualified the Mindfulness for Health and Wellbeing course. It was offered as an NSTP course during the trial. To become familiar with Mindfulness, the Mindful U 6-week program was given to its professors and teachers prior to the start of the trial.

This Suicide Prevention Month, Mindfulness at FriendlyCare tackles the current mental health situation in the country and how it affects the Filipino people, especially the youth. In discussing the problems and the steps being taken by the government, FriendlyCare finds a way to fill in the existing gaps in this sector. With our mindfulness-based programs, we are hopeful that the gaps in the mental health sector will slowly be addressed.
